Yuriy Mazurkin lives in Berlin, Germany. He has a Master's of Fine Arts degree. A professional Concept artist, he has been working in the video game industry for circa 20 years. He worked on various projects, including Dead Island 2, Dreadnought, The Cycle Frontier, Dune Awakening, and Exoborne. Currently, he works at Yager as Principal Concept Artist. His designs and illustrations have been published in Expose magazine by Ballistic Publishing (issues 8,9,10,11). In 2016, a concept he made took part in the exhibition "Into the Pixel" and received an award. In 2022, Yuriy became a finalist in the annual Concept Art Association concept art competition. He explores a wide spectrum of fantasy elements with symbolic subtext. His vision encompasses the historical and cultural influences that shape his approach to sci-fi or dark fantasy designs. He specializes in creating stylized and realistic designs for characters, creatures, and environments. His skills in freehand drawing and CG allow him to craft visually compelling concepts that could enhance atmospheric storytelling and mood for various projects.
